Ask The Experts! Overview

• Overview: (Where you are now.) An explanation of what "Ask The Experts!" is.

• Lookup Library: Before you ask an original question, this is a dynamic tool for quickly searching through the on-line "Ask The Experts!" database. Since many questions are probably similar to yours, here's where you can find authoritative answers in real-time, from many thousand "Ask The Experts!" postings.

• Post A Note: If you have an original question, here's where you can ask it. Your question will be sent instantly to several dozen of the world's leading OCD Experts throughout the world. NOTE: This is a extremely limited resource; use it wisely!

• View Boards: Here's where you can read OCD Experts' answers to your questions.

• For Experts Only: For participating OCD experts only.

• Please frame your question so that it is concise and deals with one specific aspect of OCD. (Try to keep your messages to 2-4 sentences in length.) Do not use slang words to describe your situation and/or abbreviations which may hinder the meaning of the question.

• Because this is a limited resource, do not use "Ask The Experts!" to post a question whose answer can be found somewhere else on this Web Site, such as the Lookup Library. (This includes requests for help in doing OCD-related school papers.)

• Additionally, because resources are limited, at the sole discretion of the WebMaster, multiple questions from the same end-user may be eliminated to allow other users to ask their questions. Additionally, only one submission per person, per month is allowed.

• If at all possible, do not address your message to any one specific doctor as this may limit the number of responses you will get. (It is usual to get multiple Expert responses to your single message.)

• When you post a message only include information about yourself that you feel comfortable about revealing to the rest of the world. THIS IS A PUBLIC AREA which means that you should not reveal anything confidential about yourself. You should include your (real) e-mail address (not your password), and either your first name or a pseudo pen-pal name.

• Never reveal your last name, password(s), credit card numbers, specific address or phone number in a posting. (See above rule.)

• Do not use this Section to discuss any other person by name (i.e. a third party).

• Since this is an area viewable by both adults and children, do not use language inappropriate for children under 18 years old.

• This Message Board should not have postings of a "commercial" nature (i.e. to make money) and/or to help the person [posting the message] to solicit information/resources from other end-users (a.k.a. Web Site visitors) toward that same ultimate goal. Likewise, postings which "advertise" or "promote" products, services, and/or other web sites (unless authorized by the WebMaster in a prior agreement) are prohibited.

• Posted messages can and may be edited for suitability/readability, or deleted if they are deemed inappropriate by the OCF WebMaster and/or management of the OC Foundation.

• This Section cannot be used for any illegal, or immoral purposes. Participants who violate this rules can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

• The Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation, its employees and Board Members, and participating medical expert-participants cannot be held liable for the use, or misuse of this feature.

• Posted messages will take approximately 1-2 weeks to be displayed in this Section. Replies to those messages can take up-to an additional month.

• At this time, and except in a dire emergency, all messages posted will remain displayed for a finite, but unspecified time period.

• Older messages will automatically be removed to allow room for new messages. This will be done on a periodic, informal basis.

• All postings in the OCF's "Ask The Experts!" Section become the property of the Obsessive Compulsive Foundation (OCF).

• By using the OCF's "Ask The Experts!" Section you agree to these Rules.
